Abstract: The development of a maintenance plan for the Gara underground mine’s conveyors represents a significant challenge for improving the efficiency of ore transport operations. This work aims to develop a methodical and structured approach to implementing a maintenance plan tailored to the specific characteristics of conveyors used in underground environments. We will develop a preventive and corrective maintenance plan for the mine conveyors, thereby reducing downtime and optimising the performance and lifespan of the facilities. Specifically, we will identify critical components and define the necessary maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance. The plan aims to optimize the conveyors’ performance while controlling the costs related to failures. The methodology involves analysing technical specifications and identifying critical components using Pareto diagrams. This project demonstrates the importance of adopting an organised approach to maintaining conveyors in a mining context. A well-developed maintenance plan can significantly improve equipment performance and durability. The rollers were the most critical components.
