Abstract: This manuscript investigates how corrugation, heterogeneity, and initial stress affect Love-type surface-wave propagation in a zigzag structure under specific boundary conditions. The composite model consists of an initially stressed, heterogeneous orthotropic layer bonded between an inhomogeneous viscous liquid layer and an isotropic doubleporosity (IDP) half-space, separated by corrugated boundaries. The upper layer exhibits linear heterogeneity, whereas the sandwiched layer has exponentially varying elastic parameters. We obtain the dispersion equation in closed form. The study shows the substantial effect of elastic parameters (heterogeneity and initial stress) on the phase velocity of Love-type waves. We discuss specific cases and find that the dispersion equation agrees well with the classical Love-wave equation.
